What is the difference between Styropor and Styrofoam? Are they both brand names?
Styrofoam™ is a trademark of Dow and Styropor® is a protected trade name of a discovery by BASF, patented in 1952, although I still don’t understand.
They are different brand names of the same type of plastic, polystyrene or number 6 plastic.
