TD Ameritrade margin question?

Why is TD Ameritrade debting my margin balance for a stock purchase when I have enough cash in my Money Market account to cover the transaction?

Your money has to be in the margin account in order to avoid using the margin. Or else you end up borrowing money from your margin even if you happen to have lots of money in some other account. The accounts are separate from each other.
