Government Sponsored Online Platforms for Smes $167.53 Fearing a growing digital divide between small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large companies, some governments have tried to encourage SME participation in ecommerce by sponsoring regional Internet platforms for them. These initiatives are predicated on the belief that online platforms provide a lowcost introduction to ecommerce, while at the same time delivering benefits to SMEs. However, very little academic literature exists on how to assess the success, or evaluate the benefits, of these platforms. This study looks at three such platforms in Western Australia. It synthesises existing theoretical perspectives in related areas to develop a framework to identify critical success factors for these platforms, and the benefits that may be derived from them. Although the findings are based on the Western Australian experience, they have a much broader application and are relevant to such platforms everywhere. This study is essential reading for those interested in the subject or involved in governmentsponsored regional Internet trading platforms for SMEs, and is particularly useful for university academics, research students and those engaged in regional economic planning. ShortTerm Trading $105.14 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Shortterm trading refers to those trading strategies in stock market or futures market in which the time duration between entry and exit is within a range of few days to few weeks. There are two main school of thoughts: day trading and trend following. In finance, a trading strategy (see also trading system) is a predefined set of rules for making trading decisions. Traders, investment firms and fund managers use a trading strategy to help make wiser investment decisions and help eliminate the emotional aspect of trading. A trading strategy is governed by a set of rules that do not deviate. Emotional bias is eliminated because the systems operate within the parameters known by the trader. The parameters can be trusted based on historical analysis (backtesting) and real world market studies (forward testing), so that the trader can have confidence in the strategy and its operating characteristics. The Risk of Trading (Hardcover) $91.93 Trading Risk takes an in-depth look at the challenges traders have in regards to one of the most critical facets of trading: risk management. The book takes a magnifying look at risk that every trader needs to have and understand in order to be successful in trading. Most traders look at risk in terms of a "stop-loss" that enables them to exit a losing trade quickly. In Trading Risk, Michael Toma explains that risk is ever-present in every aspect of trading and advocates that traders adopt a more comprehensive view of risk that encompasses the strategic trading plan; account size; drawdowns; maximum possible losses; psychological capital; and crisis management. He advocates that traders conduct a detailed statistical analysis of their methodology through backtesting and real-time results so as to identify when the methodology may be breaking down in actual trading. Ultimately, Toma asserts, traders should look at themselves more as project managers who are constantly managing risk rather than gamblers placing bets and hoping over time to come out ahead. In so doing, traders will begin to operate more as business managers and are much likely to avoid market-busting losses and achieve consistently good results. |
