what is the difference between….?

Vanguard 500 Index (VFINX)
besides they pretty much mirror each other i mean if you compare the 2 on the same chart it is one line….
can i but etrade and expect similar results as the vanguard one?
i am asking because a lot of ppl tell me to get in to vanguard 500 index
but it is 80 a share this etrade fund is ESSENTIALLY the same thing isnt it?
so if it is the fee’s can someone give me a break down on fees of lets say 1000 how much more does etrade charge in fees dollar wise?
The two will perform almost exactly the same.
The main differences are that the Vanguard fund has an 0.15% expense ratio and a market cap of almost $75B vs. the E*Trade fund’s 0.16% expense ratio and market cap of $248M.
