I need to know more about the fees on etrade.?
I opened an account and based on my activity and capital, i would be charged 12.99 per trade. now when they say per trade, does this mean that I will be charged each time I buy a stock and again when I sell it? So when I buy a stock and sell it, would I be charged the 12.99, or 26 dollars?
Yes. And regardless of which brokerage you use, you also pay a small exchange fee when you sell. If you want to know the precise amount, which is 0.000153 x the dollar amount of the trade, rounded up to the nearest penny. For a $1000 trade, that would be an extra 16 cents.
If you trade more frequently, your fees go down.
E*Trade is not the cheapest for infrequent traders, so you may find it pays to check out some of the others.
