E*trade Confusion!!!!?
Okay, so something weird happened this morning when I checked my etrade global account.
Let me give you some background information first:
about a year ago, i bought 2500 shares of HK: 1211 (BYD Co. LTD). And they are currently worth $59.75HKD. the total value is around $20,000 USD.
So anyway, this morning I checked my account, and I noticed I had a LOT more money than I am supposed to have (like an extra $20,000USD).
So, I checked what was going on, and went to check my positions, and saw an entry for my HK: 1211 (like I expected), but also present was an entry for US:#B016064 for 2500 shares @ a price of 73.3901. I have no clue why this entry for US:#B016064 is here. I don’t even know what that is, and can’t find any information on it.

Judging from your screen shot, I’d say you don’t have to worry about that other entry at $73 since it says “$0.” Sometimes etrade updates your account and you might see weird entries. In my experience, they have accidentally deleted the cost basis of some of my stock positions, but they have never given me extra money >_<.
I think since your stock position is worth about 20K USD, and you see an additional 20K USD, that you may be looking at your total purchasing power with margin instead of the actual account value. When you click on 'my account' you will see three lines - account value, amount available for withdrawal, and margin purchasing power.
I also think the weird entry you see in your portfolio will be removed soon, but if it really bothers you call etrade to ask what it all means.
