Etrade Ira

Where’s a good place to set up my Roth IRA?

I just got out of school, got a good job and want to start on my retirement. Besides my 401k, I would like to do a roth, but not sure where I should go to set up an account. I was looking at Etrade and it seemed decent. I wanted to stay away from a local broker because I’ve had bad experiences in the past.

I realize I’m going to get a thousand different view points, but just give me what’s worked well for you.

1 – my daughter uses a local bank. Her CD rolls automatically, picking up anything she’s added to savings when it rolls. No annual fee. Her 4% return seemed poor the first three years – now it looks GREAT.

2 – I use Wells Fargo. No annual fee. I can buy stocks, mutual funds, bonds, savings, or CDs online with little or no fee.
