how can i Find local stock broker?

my friend has a stock broker but not online, i even tried tradeking.com but all that online stuff is super confusing i need something i can work with.. i wanted to try etrade or scottrade ect… but its hard i really need help good help, one of my friends has his money with a stock broker and his money is with mcdonald and he calls him everymonth to pick up a check!!!! i want that!

You don’t need to have a local broker to get money or a check.

You just need a money market fund attached to the brokerage account and have that automatically deposit a set amount to your checking account. But you must keep enough money in that account from your profits or dividends to cover it. And you can’t drain it with stock purchases or with a margin account or the checks stop.

But if you want somebody local to help with your investing and set up payments for yourself then I would suggest looking at Edward Jones that specializes in small local agents, broker advisors, that will sit down with you and help set up what you want and advise you on investing.

But you pay for that service by trading fees or management fees. That local broker is costing your friend as doing it yourself online is cheaper.
