Does Etrade get a commision on the total amout of your stock sale when it is sold or on top of your trading $?

is soley just flat fee for each trade or is a commission added additionally when the stock is sold?

the fee is the commision. It is charged on both sides, the buy & the sell in addition to the stock price. So if they charge $10 per trade, you will pay $10 to buy the stock & $10 to sell.
