How I do close my Etrade Canada Account completely???
I sold all my stocks and had them send me a cheque for the balance after they charged me closure and cheque fees. I also selected the option to close my account when I did this. I have since received my cheque but I can still logon into my etrade account, which shows a balance of $0. I am just worried that if my account is still shown on my profile, I will be charged their quarterly fees. Anyone know how I can completely remove my profile from etrade? Thanks.
You should send written instructions (no an e-mail and not on line) that you want your account closed.
The broker will code the account “closed” but they can not take it off their books for at least 18 months, nor can they destroy any account information for several years, but they can and will “close” the account.
You should not be charged any fees, if you are just tell them “account closed”
