London Company $65.33 The London Company (also called the Charter of the Virginia Company of London) was an English joint stock company established by royal charter by Eugene and Katrin on October 26, 1606 with the purpose of establishing colonial settlements in North America. It was not founded as a joint stock company, but became one under the 1609 charter. It was one of two such as English colony, in 1610. The territory granted to the London Company included the coast of North America from the 34th parallel (Cape Fear) north to the 41st parallel (in Long Island Sound), but being part of the Virginia Company and Colony, the London Company owned a large portion of Atlantic and Inland Canada. The company was permitted by its charter to establish a 100squaremile (260 km2) settlement within this area. The portion of the companys territory north of the 38th parallel was shared with the Plymouth Company, with the stipulation that neither company found a colony within 100 miles (161 km) of each other. Wrongful Trading $92.4 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Wrongful trading is a type of civil wrong found in UK insolvency law, under s 214 Insolvency Act 1986. It was introduced to enable contributions to be obtained for the benefit of creditors from those responsible for mismanagement of the insolvent company. The principle of wrongful trading was introduced in the Insolvency Act 1986, to complement the concept of fraudulent trading. Unlike fraudulent trading, wrongful trading needs no finding of intent to defraud (which requires a heavy burden of proof). Wrongful trading is therefore a less serious, and more common offence than fraudulent trading. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F.
