Market Trading Hours Nyse
I am looking to invest in a stock market that is open opposite hours of the american markets?
hi everyone, I am a beginner investor who works nights, so unfortunately I sleep during the open hours of the NYSE. I have access to the internet at night when I work, and would like to look into buying stock in a company that trades on an exchange that is open preferably approx. 2am-8am (eastern time) Can you guys suggest an exchange for me? thx
If you aren’t day-trading, then time zones don’t matter. Just get a good data provider, download that data after the markets closes, do your analysis and place your trade. All data should be updated by 7 pm, so you can easily download current data in your 2am-8am time frame. I would caution you about foreign exchanges as you’ll have to jump through more hops to set one up, you’ll have to go through foreign brokers, which will incur more costs. Foreign exchanges are more difficult to trade if you don’t live in that country.
Right now, the emerging markets are really getting hammered. The BSE is down about 20% and the others are not fairing as well either.

Econometric Modelling of Stock Market Intraday Activity $348.89 The recent widespread availability of intraday tickbytick databases for stocks, options and currencies has had an important impact on research in applied financial econometrics and market microstructure. Econometric Modelling of Stock Market Intraday Activity focuses on the econometric modelling of intraday tickbytick transaction data (trades and quote) for stock traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Recent quantitative modelling tools such as intraday duration models and GARCH modes are presented. A survey of trading mechanisms in financial markets and a review of market microstructure issues is also included, which allows to gain a better understanding of the motivation underlying the use of the quantitative models. In the empirical applications, the link is made with the models of the market microstructure literature that have proposed an explicit treatment of time in the trading process. Other empirical applications deal with the modelling of intraday volatility and intraday ValueatRisk. Although the models are applied to data for stock traded on the NYSE, they are not specific to this exchange and could be used to analyze other existing trading mechanisms. Accordingly, this book should be of interest to academics and graduate students involved in empirical finance and applied econometrics, regulators working for exchanges, and practitioners in banks or brokerage firms.
