Are there any companies traded that are into converting coal and biomass to liquid fuels?
I understand the AF has set aside property for the construction of such a facility.
Thanks. The AF plant is projected to cost 5 billion.
It seems to be the way of the future. I bet I could fuel my car off my grass clippings!
My interest is based on reports I read of a catalytic process discovered around 2006 that converts mid-molecular weight products produced in great quantity by previous synthetic fuel production methods into high and low molecular weight products. It indicated that this process was economically feasible, could use coal and other biomass and produced high quality, low emissions liquid fuels such as gasoline and jet fuels.
coal to oil–SASOIL (SSL) I think, you may want to check this. they are the only play that I could find. Im looking too.

Property Finder $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Property Finders (or Property Search Agents as they are also known) are companies and individuals representing a buyer in a property transaction. The term is more common in the United Kingdom, but in the United States the situation is referred to as buyer brokerage, and in Australia it is known as Buyer Advocacy. Property Finders specialise in sourcing and negotiating the purchase of property on behalf of the buyer. In essence, the Property Finder will develop an indepth understanding of his clients requirements, desires and property goals, and then attempt to find a property which matches all of these requirements for his client to acquire. In Britain until the early 1990s, agents involved in a property transaction worked for the seller as Estate agents. Now, property finders exist to represent the interests of the buyer or tenant. Property Derivatives $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A property derivative is a financial derivative whose value is derived from the value of an underlying real estate asset. In practice, because real estate assets fall victim to market inefficiencies and are hard to accurately price, property derivative contracts are typically written based on a real estate property index. In turn, the real estate property index attempts to aggregate real estate market information to provide a more accurate representation of underlying real estate asset performance. Trading or taking positions in property derivatives is also known as synthetic real estate. Property derivatives usually take the form of a total return swap, forward contract, futures, or can adopt a funded format where the property derivative is embedded into a bond or note structure. Under the total return swap or forward contract the parties will usually take contrary positions on the price movements of a property index. Trading in Genes by Melendez-Ortiz, Ricardo Edition , $15.36 Few scientific developments have given rise to as much controversy as biotechnology. Numerous groups are united in their opposition, expressing concern over environmental and health risks, impacts on rural livelihoods, the economic dominance of multinational companies and the ethical implications of crossing species boundaries. Among the supporters of the technology are those that believe in its potential to enhance food security, further economic development, increase productivity and reduce environmental pressures. As a result, countries – and sectors within countries – find themselves at odds with each other while potential opportunities for development offered by the use of biotechnology are seized or missed, and related risks go unmanaged. This book, a unique interdisciplinary collection of perspectives from the developing world, examines the ongoing debate. Writing for the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development, leading experts address issues such as diffusion of technology, intellectual property rights, the Cartagena Protocol, impacts of international trade, capacity building and biotechnology research and regulation. With the most recent and relevant examples from around the world, Trading in Genes offers the reader a single-volume overview of the connections between biotechnology, trade and sustainability that is both wide-ranging and thorough |

Emissions Trading for Road Transportation $96.59 Greenhouse gas emissions from road transport are increasing all over the world and are responsible for a rising share in greenhouse gas emissions. In 1997, the Kyoto protocol set legally binding quantified greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for industrialised countries. In order to achieve these targets with most costeffective means, the instrument of emissions trading was introduced. This paper outlines the various policies and measures which can lead to CO2 reductions in the road transport sector. Emissions trading is granted the main attention. Its ability to achieve emission reductions at lowest cost can unify all stakeholders in the attempt to reduce CO2 emissions from road transportation. This goal is reflected in the discussion of the additional costs and benefits of an emissions trading system to automotive manufacturers as well as vehicle purchasers. The outcome is somewhat surprising in that this emissions trading program can at least be economically neutral to all parties. The paper addresses political decision makers, governments as well as companies in the transport sector that are faced with emission reduction requirements.
