Does the Democratic party need new ideas, a new platform?
Civil rights legislation was first proposed by President Truman, and 17 years later, under president Johnson, was legislated into law.
Economics has more or less determined, that greater properity for a people comes from economic principles that support free trade.
Unions fought hard and one rights in America, in the 1920′s and 1930′s, but, since the 60′s, union enrollment, and the economy being driven by a service and intellectual property driven economy, has greatly diminished their rolls.
Besides universal health care, is there a single Democratic idea that is not borne out of fights that occured one, two, or even three generations ago. and, for the most part, have become won, less important now, or even inconsequential, in our day?
Just need to have the cojones to call themselves the Socialist Party. We can all see it, yet they deny it. There no new ideas from the democrats, just a different face.
