Rollover Ira Etrade

which broker (etrade/others) would give me access to morningstar Premium if I do a Rollover IRA with them ?

I have many 401Ks lying around from different
companies I have worked for. I want to consolidate
into 1 IRA which I can direct and buy stocks and
mutual funds with. I want a broker who will
give me Morningstar Premium access.
Is there one ?
If not, what’s the best way to compare the IRAs from
the online brokers?
since one answer wonders “why will
broker give it to you”, I suggest
he re-read the question.

I don’t think any broker or dealer or any one who is securities licensed can let you gain access to the Morningstar program. Its for broker-dealer use only, which means that the person can’t show you what’s on there. They can help you compare investments you own to the ones they recommend and print out the results. Though, I think many are not going to bother to help you if you have less than $100,000 to invest. The program is very expensive to use and you need to pay yearly subscription for it.

When you are comparing IRAs between various brokers, the only thing you are comparing is the fees involved and the minimum balance required to keep the IRA. But if you want to compare mutual funds, the Morningstar program can help.

I wouldn’t put stocks in your retirement plan. They are highly volatile, meaning you can make lots of money and also lose lots of money at any given time. I would keep stocks outside of the IRA so that you can buy and sell anytime without paying penalties.
