Trading From Gold To Ruby

Can you trade the original pokemon game boy games to GBA?

I have to buy the special cord for it, like universal game link cord or something, but it is possible to trade pokemon from Gameboy color games to GBA if you have like, a gameboy and a gameboy advance or two. What i was wondering is, that i have the red, yellow and gold version. Since the red and yellow is the older versions, they dont require me to trade from an original gameboy to the gold game thats on a gameboy color, right? I mean, the yellow and red version are in color, so Im guessing i could trade like im going to do with gold, right?
and what im doing to trade gold/red/yellow to the GBA is use the gameboy color and GBA i have and get the cord that connects between those two, and trade them onto gba ruby. Then migrate the ones from ruby to diamond, and trade from diamond to platinum.
So 1.Will the red and yellow version be fine to trade the way im doing with gold? and 2. Does anyone know the specific name for the cord or is it just called Universal GameLink Cable?

You’re DEFINITELY not the first to ask this . Sadly no, you have to start all over in GBA versions, but you can transfer the pokemon on GBA to DS (but it’s a one-way trip).

I felt crushed when I found out too. I’ve played Pokemon Gold for almost ten years and my almost completed collection along with me level 100 lugia and the three legendary birds along with those pokemon that nobody would be that patient to get (sunflore, bellosom, crobat, etc)…all to waste.
