Did the Lakers make the mistake of not trading for Artest in the offseason?

I know that the Kings wanted Odom, but look at Artest right now. He has been a total beast on both offense and defense in these early 2 games for the Rockets. Artest really would have been able to help them defensively.

The Kings didn’t want Lamar Odom for Ron Artest since they also didn’t want to give up Kenny Thomas as well. The initial trade was Ron Artest and Kenny Thomas for Lamar Odom.

It’s okay though, the Lakers are getting through without him, the Lakers and the Rockets would make a good Semi-finals or Conference Finals match-up.
