I want to be an actor?
I live in south Florida, east coast, near Fort Lauderdale. I’ve always thought I would be a good actor, so I took an acting class in college and loved it. I believe I’m good enough to make it big, but I’m clueless as to where to go from here. I want to act all the time, I really have a passion for it. I’ve read other posts that say go audition with local theater companies, my problem is I don’t know where to find them. Is there some trade publication I should look for? I’ve tried looking in the arts&entertainment section of the paper but find very little info. Also looked in the local tabloid style newspapers, but again nothing.
I feel like I have to give this a legitimate shot, I have to try my hardest to make this happen because if I don’t I’ll always think what if? Any hints/tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
i would just keep entering local contests and talent shows. if you have true talent someone will discover you, thats how it happens alot of times. if you think you have what it takes, get out there and prove yourself. good luck.

The Stranger (Newspaper) $89.22 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Stranger is an alternative weekly newspaper in Seattle, Washington, USA. The Stranger was founded by Tim Keck, who had previously cofounded the satirical newspaper The Onion, and cartoonist James Sturm. Its first issue came out on September 23, 1991. The paper is distributed to local businesses, newsstands, and newspaper boxes free of charge every Thursday. It calls itself Seattles Only Newspaper, an expression of its disdain for Seattles two dailies (the Seattle Times and the now defunct print version of the] Seattle PostIntelligencer) and The Strangers main rival, the Seattle Weekly. The paper regularly covers Seattle City Council politics. As with The Onion, its tone is highly ironic. In its early days, The Stranger had a print run of 20,000, and was focused in Seattles University District. The paper was a single sheet wrapped around a wad of coupons for local businesses.
