Us Trading Partners
If the Middle East wants to take over Isreal, why don’t they become trading partners with the US first?
That way the US will be reluctant to attack both the Middle East and Isreal.
Plus, both Isreal and the Middle East seem a bit fishy in their business approaches.
Seer, I understand the logic of your point….. I think the answer is culture preservation. They truely believe that if they begin to trade other goods with the U.S; then U.S. culture will soon follow and infiltrate their society. What we see as good (ie) Isreal and Dubai (TV, Radio,Womens rights, Amusement parks), the surrounding muslim tribes see as evil. Power hungry warlords will do anything to keep their people uninformed and ignorant.
Unfortunately, this will not change in our lifetime.
Good question!

Trading Secrets $30.55 Winner of the Prix Goncourt in 1998, this book is the work of one of Frances most celebrated and interesting novelists writing at the height of her powers. It is fiction that leads readers through fascinating chambers of life where autobiography is constantly reimagined. A darkly comic novel about four women aging lessthangracefully, Trading Secrets takes us to an academic conference in Kansas where, in an encounter between Aurore, a French woman, and her American counterpart, Gloria, the differences between their two cultures become sharply apparent. The result is a bitingly funny portrait of painfully complex, psychologically damaged individuals, all of whom have been, in some sense, colonized. The novel also offers an incisive picture of a French posture toward things American, from race relations to feminism to academia. As Paule Constant herself has said: Cest un livre en miroir. The book is a mirror, both in how its characters reflect one another and in what it shows us of ourselves and our world. Author: Constant, Paule/ Wing, Betsy/ Miller, Margot Series Title: European Women Writers (Paperback) Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 165 Publication Date: 2001/09/01 Language: English Dimensions: 9.00 x 5.27 x 0.40 inches |

Market Access Issues in EC-Us Relations: Trading Partners or Trading Blows? $89.39 New – In recent years transatlantic trade tensions have grown. The United States has viewed the EC as creating a fortress, while Europe has looked on with increasing alarm at what it sees as a progressive shift from multilateralism towards unilateralism in the US. These tensions have been exacerbated by conflicts over how to develop the multilateral trading system – as reflected in the heated negotiations between the US and the EC in the GATT Uruguay Round.
