Before the election was announced, John Howard, commissioned a report on nuclear energy headed by former Telstra chief executive Ziggy Switkowski. The report concluded that 25 reactors could be built in 2050. Given that all our key trading partners of nuclear power (U.S., UK, France, China, India, Germany, Israel, Mexico), why nuclear energy is not an option. 'S Australia's emissions of greenhouse gases are the worst in the world per capita and have vast amounts of uranium. Should not be considered nuclear power as a stop gap until renewable energy can carry the base load power in the network at an acceptable price. I accept the waste, proliferation, water use and public perception are against nuclear power. Would you accept a nuclear plant in your neighborhood?
